Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born as the only daughter of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into showbiz early and landed up performing lead roles in various TV dramas before she turned 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the beautiful diva. Alexandra has been associated with numerous notable projects, both nationally and internationally. The projects include British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as well as French historic miniseries Napoleon. She was also an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
